Fabric & Stabilizer Recommendations

  • Silk, Satin & Georgette: Use 2 plies of 45 GSM non-woven tear-away backing. Maintain pull compensation between 0.35–0.40 mm to avoid puckering.
  • Velvet & Heavy Bridal Wear: Pair 2 plies of 50 GSM tear-away with a 25-micron water-soluble film (Solvy) topping to prevent satin stitches sinking into fabric pile.
  • Cotton, Linen & Twill: Single 50 GSM tear-away stabilizer provides full structural rigidity.

Needle, Tension & Raw Material Specs

  • Needle System: DBxK5 #11/75 for 40wt Rayon/Polyester; use #14/90 with enlarged eye for metallic Kasab / Zari threads.
  • Estimated Thread Usage: Top Thread: ~178 meters • Bobbin Thread: ~58 meters.
  • Tension Calibration: Set upper thread tension to 110–125 gf (90–100 gf for metallic Zari); bobbin tension at 25–30 gf.
